Insurance and Identification
Hired-in plant insurance is essential and must cover both machines before the package can be hired. If you already have suitable hired-in plant insurance, please provide the relevant documents.
Short-term hire insurance may also be arranged at an additional cost. Please read the following documents for further information:
You will also need to provide:
- A valid driving licence
- A utility bill dated within the last three months
- Matching names and addresses on both documents
- Payment by bank transfer
Delivery and Collection
Delivery and collection may be arranged within a reasonable distance of our workshop. Additional charges may apply depending on your location.
Alternatively, you are welcome to collect and return the machines yourself, provided you have suitable plant transport.
Hire charges will be deducted from the holding deposit when the machines are returned.

Terms & Conditions
Hire Details
PPE – All hired equipment must be used with the correct PPE. This is your responsibility and is not supplied by Jim’s Repairs.
Identification – Hire rates (we are currently VAT exempt). All holding deposits must be paid by bank transfer from the hirer’s account only. First-time customers are subject to a security check prior to hire. Photo ID and a recent utility bill (dated within the last three months) are required, with matching addresses.
Hire Stock and Availability – Please note we are an independent business and currently have a limited number of machines available for hire. As the business grows, we will increase our inventory. All hires are by pre-booking and appointment only. Please enquire in advance (if you arrive without prior notice, we may refuse the hire).
Cleaning – All machines must be returned in the same clean, ready-to-use condition as they left. A £20 cleaning charge will be applied if this condition is not met.
Delivery & Collection – As an independent business, we currently have limited staff. However, if arranged in advance and within the local area of the workshop (Braintree), we may be able to offer delivery and collection for certain machines where customers do not have suitable transport. This requires pre-booking, with equipment ID, hire contracts, and payments completed beforehand, along with agreed collection and delivery times. Collection and drop-off charges apply (£20). Please enquire for availability.
